Our Tacoma, WA facility is Looking for a Lab Chemist I. They will be responsible for sample preparation, the analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. Hours: Monday – Friday, Evening shift, noon-8:30pmPay: $27.88 hourKey ResponsibilitiesMaintaining a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations as well as all applicable company Health and Safety and Compliance protocols. Other main categories of responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Laboratory:
Performing analysis on plant products at various stages of process for quality control of facility operations and communicating with facility personnel when there is a problem.
Performing Analysis on tanks to ensure materials meet facility criteria for processing.
Specific Skills: Requires proficiency with PCB analysis, (GC operation) and ICP operation for metals analysis.
Perform calibration verification on all laboratory equipment.
Quality control of all data reported.
Prepare solutions and standards.
Dispose of lab wastes in appropriate on-site satellite drums.
Maintaining a clean work environment at all times, cleaning counters and work areas.
Test Safety Equipment weekly (showers, eyewashes)
Administrative:
Maintaining laboratory records of samples run, quality control samples, and calibration samples.
Scanning lab sheets onto company server
Update and maintain Excel databases of all plant process, in-bound and outbound materials and products.
Create certificates of analysis for outbound products.
Generate Word document results and send via email to appropriate recipients.

Rotary Viscometers (Brookfield, Anton-Parr)
Karl Fisher for Percent water
X-ray Fluorescence sulfur/chlorine in oil tester
Bomb Calorimeter for BTU
Digital Density Meter for API
Thermo iCAP Pro ICP for metals
Agilent 6890 GC for PCB analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or other science field required.
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
DOT training required. (Company provided as needed)
Good organizational skills
Computer skills. (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe)
Solid understanding of math, chemistry and chemical testing.
Ability to work both independently and as a team.
