We are looking for a Loads and Dynamics Engineers to join us in Tukwila, WA .The selected candidate will directly support the Puget Sound Flight Systems Capability Team in the Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) Division. The candidate will join the Loads, Dynamics and Flutter teams supporting multiple MS&B aircraft programs in the Puget Sound, including the P-8A Poseidon, KC-46A Pegasus, VC-25B Presidential Aircraft and other development programs.Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Loads and Dynamics Engineers .Position Responsibilities:
Conduct basic loads and dynamics analyses and tests for new and derivative vehicles
Utilize mathematical models, supports test execution, analyzes and reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Participate in predictive analyses for aeroelastic stability, flutter, buffet, static and dynamic forces that act on a vehicle
Support the integration of structural, inertial, aerodynamic and systems definition for analyses
Participate in defining and documenting certification and test results to ensure compliance with regulations, system design specifications
Support failure investigations of in-service products and analyzes improvements
Travel as needed to support various test activities (less than 10%)
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
1+ years’ experience in aerospace systems or structures
Willing to travel domestically as needed
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Astronautical or Mechanical Engineering
Proficient in one or more computer based programing languages (prefer MATLAB and/or Python)
Experience conducting structural loads and dynamics analyses using Finite Element Models (FEM) (Prefer MSC Nastran, Patran and HyperMesh)
Experience working with aerodynamic data from sources like Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Wind Tunnel tests
Knowledge of engineering testing techniques including wind tunnel testing, structural ground testing, ground vibration or modal testing, structural flight and ground loads testing
Experience working on Unix or Linux operating systems including terminal windows and shell scripts
Typical Education/Experience:Associate (Level 2)Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
