Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Space Intelligence and Weapons System Manufacturing Engineer (Experienced, Lead or Senior) located in Tukwila, WA. This team supports a variety of programs ranging from technology development to developmental manufacturing to initial production.The selected candidate will be responsible for multiple activities including implementation of design for manufacturing, development of cost-reduction redesign opportunities, and incorporation of engineering changes. The ideal candidate will have strong balance between technical skills, and strength in communications, presentation, creativity, vision, and work ethic.Position Responsibilities Include:
Support/Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, complex producibility studies across multiple areas of manufacturing engineering planning including: structures and mechanisms, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Refine, validate, coordinate and implement conceptual designs and manage the program architecture for build.
Develop manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization, including 3D Model Based Work Instructions (MBIs).
Conduct complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
Resolve complex technical problems.
Ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained.
Support/Lead advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities.
Deploy company Lean Enterprise analysis methods.
Document and communicate producibility best practices.
Excellent teamwork and written/oral communications skills to effectively collaborate with various engineering disciplines, suppliers and customers.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced, Lead or Senior Level Space Intelligence and Weapons System Manufacturing Engineer (Experienced, Lead or Senior).This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ year of experience working with space electronics or aerospace flight hardware
How many years of higher education and/or related work experience do you have? (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc)
Experience supporting both Development and Production programs.
Experience in the Production Engineering Start Right Implementation.
Experience with manufacturing execution systems such as MESci.
Experience with Product Data Management tools/systems such as TeamCenter and ENOVIA.
Working Knowledge with Computer Aided Design tools such as CATIA V5 or NX/Unigraphics.
Experience working with CATIA V5 and PDM tools such as TeamCenter and ENOVIA is a plus.
Typical Education/Experience:Experienced (Level 3):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Lead (Level 4):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Senior (Level 5):Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience).
