The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level Flight Test Data Systems Service Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA. As a member of the Data System Service Lab (DSSL), candidates will provide direct technical support to Engineering assigned to develop computer/electronic test equipment

The electronic data acquisition and monitoring systems, peripherals, and specialized components are required to support test activities for the Boeing enterprise programs utilizing commercial airframes.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, problem solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Configure, validate, test, certify and repair equipment to component level
  • Possess knowledge and experience in operation of general and/or specific purpose lab analyzing tools
  • Take appropriate corrective action to ensure equipment is operating within company and industry standards
  • Provide failure cause and effect analysis of malfunctioning equipment and integrated systems by analyzing components, hardware, systems and software
  • Determine and simulate causes and effects of failures, documenting corrective actions and providing reports of results to Engineering for review
  • Fabricate, rework, or modify test equipment wire bundles
  • Build up developmental data systems on a bench or within a rack
  • Support development of technical test and validation procedures to meet government and industry standards, company regulations and policies by applying knowledge and theory of electrical and electronic engineering principles
  • Plan and perform specific repairs, preparation of preventative maintenance schedules, and validation tests to the assigned test systems
  • Select, use and maintain spreadsheets, databases and special purpose computing tools
  • Work with suppliers to order and receive parts
  • Work under the guidance and direction of engineering staff


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 1+ years of experience in laboratory and/or test environment


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Associate degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 2 or more years of equivalent technical experience
  • Experience with electrical/electronic schematics and drawings
  • Experience in various computing system architectures
  • Experience with UNIX, Linux and windows operating systems
  • 3+ years of experience in laboratory and/or test environment
  • Experience maintaining Flight Test specific hardware


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
