We are looking for a HR Business Partner to join our HR operational team, working from Fowler Welch Washington and Fowler Welch Broxburn. As a HR Business Partner, you will work with key stakeholders in the relevant business areas, building effective relationships and guiding, supporting and advising them to ensure people practices are applied effectively, in line with legal requirements and Company policies / procedures.A successful HR Business Partner will embody the defined HR operating model through working in collaboration with other members of the wider HR team to ensure the delivery of seamless and efficient operational service to the business is timely and consistent. You will also design solutions that are aligned with the Strategic People Vision and in support of local People Plans.Key responsibilities of a HR Business Partner:Influence the acceptance of and provide on-going support for a business partnering approach to the management of colleague activities across your business areas whilst working with key managers to plan colleague related initiatives that support the development of colleagues.Work in partnership with the senior managers across your business areas to support development and delivery of their People, Engagement and Training Plans to ultimately achieve Company objectives whilst supporting delivery of the HR Roadmap.Through customer understanding, effectively utilise the support and offerings of the HR ‘Specialist Teams’ to help you deliver seamless and efficient operational service to the business specifically in relation to recruitment, training, and rewardManage HRA, providing guidance, support and addressing development needs as appropriate.Support managers in the planning and implementation of business change and organisation re-structures, including TUPE and redundancy situations, through the provision of technical expertise and advice.Provide an advisory service to the business on ER casework (mainly complex / potential dismissals) ensuring that it is efficient and applied with consistency, fairness and legally compliant to mitigate risks.Support/collaborate with Head of ER ensuring the fair application and consistency of approach across designated business areas of HR policies and procedures including disciplinary, grievance absence management, performance management and reward / recognition through guidance, advising and coaching managers.Support and implement a pro-active approach to attraction / recruitment / selection activities ensuring that solutions are cost-effective, future-focused, and appropriate for purpose to support the recruitment activity for your Depots to ensure vacancies are filled with suitably skilled and competent individuals.Use the MI analyses / commentary to facilitate a proactive response within the business to the areas of risk / concern identified and plan / devise early solutions in line with trends.Facilitate an improvement on the people management skills and capability of your managers and their direct reports.Work with managers to identify collective and individual learning needs and provide both short-term and long-term coaching support and solutionsFacilitate the identification, development, and retention of site talent, though succession planning and career development activity.Deliver skills-based workshops for managers on people related processes such as disciplinary and absence management and help develop training materials in line with business needs and current legislation.Facilitate the effectiveness of and recommend improvements to the consultation and communication process between your business areas and its colleaguesEnsure that relevant forms are completed and submitted in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with current rules and practices.Support, facilitate and /or co-ordinate HR projects cross functionally and across all business areas as required.
