The Blue Elk Inn is seeking a motivated front desk manager with a flexible schedule to join our team. Our front desk is responsible for providing customer service to our guests in person, over the phone, and via email and we strive to create a positive and personal experience for all hotel guests through understanding, anticipating, and responding to their needs. The front desk manager will likely staff the front desk 3-4 days per week and fulfill supervisory responsibilities 1-2 days per week. In addition to staffing the front desk, the front desk manager will also be expected to:
· Oversee front desk and guest services operations
· Cover front desk shifts when employees call out or the department is short-staffed
· Provide support to front desk as needed when problems arise
· Make the front desk schedule on a monthly basis
· Monitor and respond to guest reviews and feedback
· Submit data and reports on a weekly, semimonthly, and monthly basis
· Hire and train new front desk staff under the direction of the AGM
· Monitor performance of front desk staff and work with the GM and AGM to address and correct behavior and performance issues
· Conduct annual performance reviews with front desk staff and make raise recommendations to the AGM
We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule who can be on-call to cover shifts and assist the front desk remotely as needed. One year of hotel front desk experience and one year of management experience are required for this position and extensive training will be provided. Our front desk shifts run from 7:30am to 2pm for the day shift and 2pm to 8:30pm (Sun-Thu) or 9:30pm (Fri-Sat) for the evening shift. During the summer we extend our lobby hours until 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The starting wage for this position is $22-$24/hr DOE.
