Objective:

The Kitchen Team Member will oversee prepping food, plating dishes, and delivering plates according to a restaurant’s menu specifications while on shift.

Essential Job Duties:

-Make food plates as ordered, according to standards set by Back of House Lead.

-Oversee delivery of food plates to guests in a timely manner.

-Ensuring the preparation station and the kitchen are clean, set up, and stocked.

-Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces. Making sure ingredients, food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.

-Cleaning prep areas and taking care of leftovers.

-Stock inventory and supplies.

-Prepare menu items with the support of other kitchen staff.

-Prep food as needed and as assigned by Back of House Lead.

-Wash all wares including pots, pans, storage containers, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwasher.

-Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.

-Stock serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.

-Keep kitchen clean and organized.

-Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations.

-Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized.

-Record all food waste daily on Monthly Waste Sheet.

-Maintain open communication with taproom staff to facilitate smooth operations.

-Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding their orders.

Required Skills/Abilities:

-Basic written and verbal communication skills.

-Organizational skills. Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.

-Ability to work as a team member.

-Follow directions and instructions.

Education and Experience:

-Previous food service experience.

-In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.

-Ability to work well in a stressful, fast-paced environment and remain calm and composed.

-Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities.

-Outstanding communication and organizational skills.

-Prior food and beverage experience, base knowledge and passion for craft beer is a plus, but not required.

-Enthusiasm for culinary arts.

Work Environment:

-The work environment is usually that of a brewery/taproom.

-The employee regularly works with the general public.

-The employee regularly works in a small, pantry-style kitchen.

-The employee works in fluctuating temperatures.

-Meat Slicer (must be 18+ years of age)

Physical Requirements:
