Almond Blossom Roasted Nuts and Eatery, located at 102 Aplets Way, Cashmere has a rare opening for a lead crew member in the cafe/kitchen and retail areas of the store.
Basic job overview: The lead hire will oversee and have hands on all aspects of our guest dining experience. The workday begins by preparing food for the day (soups, salads, sandwiches, baked good), opening the eatery and retail store, greeting and seating guests, preparing meals as ordered, bussing tables, washing dishes, overseeing food supplies, ordering paper goods and food, general cleaning and organizing of the kitchen. Downtime will be spent labeling bags for retail and wholesale nut sales, filling them, sealing and preparing for shipments or delivery. If you have baking experience it's a plus but not a requirement.
There are occasions where the workday may begin earlier/end sooner, due to catering schedules or wholesale nut shipment deadlines.
Applicant must be an outgoing people person and have good communication skills both with guests and co-workers.
Applicant will be in a situation where they will very likely be standing during the entire shift. There is occasional desk work.
Applicant must work well in a team environment but also have the ability to work alone when scheduling dictates.
Job skills requirements: Applicants must read and write English fluently. Good communication skills along with basic math skills are a must. Applicant must have experience with handling cash and working with the general public. Preference given to applicants who have had prior food service work history. A current food worker card must be available upon hire.
Applicant will cross train in all departments and will step into other job roles, as needed, to cover for employee callouts and vacations.
Work hours: This position is Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30-"ish" depending on the daily workload. There is some flexibility in these hours, insomuch as we can accommodate, within reason, depending on your personal life scheduling needs. There will be occasional work on Saturdays to cover shifts as needed. We are closed on Sundays.
Wage: This will be discussed during interview. The position is hourly plus tips. Our discussion about wages will center on your ability to perform the duties described, the willingness to be a "make it happen" person and your past job history.
