As the Mechanic at Desert Canyon Golf Resort, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our golf course. Your responsibilities will include the repair and maintenance of all equipment and machinery in the turf department and related areas (pump stations, maintenance facility, etc.), as well as providing support to the property (club house & recreation center) in areas of related expertise (i.e., golf carts, electronics, etc.). This includes meeting established safety standards and adherence to the respective equipment owner's manual specifications to maintain the proper working order and longevity of all equipment and machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be knowledgeable and capable of operating all equipment and machinery utilized by the turf department including tools and machinery needed to make related repairs or routine maintenance.
As a proactive member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and logging preventative maintenance programs for all equipment in the turf department. Your initiative in this area will be crucial in ensuring our equipment's longevity and proper functioning.
Must be capable of diagnosing and making informed repairs and/or maintenance of, but not limited to:
engines
tractors (gas & diesel)
hydraulics
electronics
tools or equipment (i.e., blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, reels, bed-knives, etc.)
Your role as a Mechanic at Desert Canyon Golf Resort is not just about equipment, but also about ensuring a safe work environment. You will be responsible for compliance with OSHA/WISHA guidelines and the proper operating usage of equipment as defined in related owner's manual specifications. Your commitment to safety will be a key factor in our team's success.
Assists in training team members for proper use of equipment & machinery.
Implements methods and procedures designed to minimize operational costs and maximize resources to insure the proper working order and longevity of each piece of equipment.
Timely completion of repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure golf course quality standards are achieved.
Ensures daily a.m. set up of all turf equipment.
Daily communication with the golf course superintendent regarding the status and condition of all turf equipment.
Ability to fabricate or alter new or existing equipment to ensure proper working order and efficiency.
Maintain adequate inventory of parts and supplies, including fuel and oil.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
On-course assistance is needed to ensure the proper working order of all equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Thorough understanding and ability to operate all pieces of turf equipment.
Thorough understanding of mechanical operations of engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
Ability to follow company policy/procedures, complying with all administrative responsibilities.
