Exciting Opportunity: Providence Senior Housing in Yakima is looking for a night and weekend manager to live on site. Responsibilities include responding to residents' after-hours emergencies, such as lock outs, leaks, system building, security concerns etc. Walking the premises mornings and evening to ensure safety and cleanliness. Contact appropriate vendors, management staff and authorities based on situation, overall making sure the building is secure and safe during non-business hours which include 6 pm-6 am M-F all day Sat-Sun on call. A good fit is someone who is very responsible/dependable, who has clear communication skills and is able to maintain a daily log of activities and responses, who has basic computer skills. Preferably light maintenance skills and can maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. This role requires compassion and respect while working with diverse senior population. ESSENTIAL POSITION PURPOSE
The Night Manager will reside on the property and maintain Staff presence when Housing Management Staff are not present. The main function of this role is after-hours emergency response and communication with the Housing Manager on an as needed basis. The Night Manager is expected maintain a professional and respectful manner while adhering to fair housing laws.
KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Understand and demonstrate philosophy of Supportive Housing and the Mission and Core Values of Providence St. Joseph Health in interactions with residents and staff.
Be available to respond to emergencies and other situations in the building during the hours outlined in Exhibit B, and at other times by mutual agreement in the absence of Management or Housing Staff.
In the event of an emergency, be available to return to the building as quickly as possible and in less than two hours during designated on-call hours.
Notify Housing Staff in the event of an absence that would prevent the Night Manager from returning to the building within 2 hours during designated on-call hours so that arrangements for a back-up responder can be made.
Serve as the primary contact for the alarm monitoring company after hours and/or in the absence of Management or Housing Staff.
Respond to emergencies in person or by phone during designated hours or in the absence of the Housing Staff. Contact the appropriate emergency personnel and/or Housing Staff. Provide emergency personnel access to the premises if necessary. Assist during emergencies as directed by emergency personnel and/or Housing Staff.
Conduct rounds of the building during weekday evenings and on weekend evenings, and mornings. Secure windows and doors easily accessible from the outside, turn off lights to conserve energy and resources, and light janitorial as needed to eliminate hazards in common areas during rounds. During rounds, be vigilant for hazards, address as necessary, and report.
Document rounds, incidents, emergencies, alarms, concerns, and hazards in log provided by Housing Manager.
In case of resident death, crime, fire, disaster, or major emergency, call 911 and notify the Housing Manager as soon as possible.
Notify Housing Manager immediately if unable to perform duties.
Other related duties as assigned or mutually agreed.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The Night/ Weekend Manager maintains strong relations with the Housing Manager and the residents of the specific housing program.
ESSENTIAL POSITION COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: The Night/Weekend Manager must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Experience: Experience working with older adults and/or those with disabilities.
Attributes: Responsibility, honesty and integrity and a respect for the privacy and confidentiality
of resident information is required.
The Night Manager is a LIVE-IN position that provides support and assistance to the residents of our Senior Housing community.
RESIDENCY ON-SITE IS REQUIRED. This is a non-wage, contracted position. Compensation is a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment that is approximately 530 sq feet.
