UPDATE: New Wage IncreasesAll staff members at Yakima Valley Memorial must be in compliance with our Vaccination Policy, which includes the COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccine, by their first day of employment.ROLE SUMMARYThe RN performs a comprehensive review of record to assure pre-procedural optimization in alignment with the plan of care; completes individualized patient assessments; develops a care plan based on assessment/history findings; delivers patient-centered care that is culturally appropriate; evaluates a patient’s response to care and revises as needed. The RN is accountable to deliver care as well as to oversee and delegate to other personnel (clinical & non-clinical) in delivering/supporting the delivery of care.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Admits patients and reviews their charts per department standard processes in preparation for procedures in the Holding Room or Cath Lab.Responsible to perform timely patient assessments, documentation, and interventions within the nursing scope of practice in fast-paced, schedule-driven care environment. 3. Serve as a trusted and reliable educator about the surgery process for the patient and family. 4. Recovers patients following the procedure and delivers patient education upon discharge. 5. Required to delegate, supervise, and evaluate as necessary, while simultaneously executing immediate directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations. 6. Required to cross-train between areas to understand and offer competent care in all pre- and post-procedural care units.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education: Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred. Experience: Previous Critical Care or Recovery Room experience preferred. License/Certification/Registration: Washington State DOH Registered Nursing licensure required. American Heart Association BLS required until certified in ACLS and PACLS. ACLS and PALS required within 60 days of hire. Additional Requirements: Call requirements for the PACU with a 30-minute response time required for Per Diem, Part- and Full-Time staff members.ABOUT US:Yakima Valley Memorial (YVM) is primarily a 256-bed acute-care, not-for-profit community hospital that has served Central Washington's Yakima Valley for 70 years.
