Yard Technician Part Time & Full Time Positions Available
KNUDSON LUMBER IS HIRING
The primary function of this job is to provide excellent customer service to our customers by portraying a welcoming and friendly attitude, loading purchased products accurately, safely and efficiently; assisting with returns; and providing a quick and positive checkout process. As a Yard Technician at Knudson Lumber, you are the last employee a customer interacts with and part of your job is ensuring they are happy about their shopping experience and excited to come back to our store. This job consists of working outside year-round (including in extreme weather conditions) assisting customers in picking out and loading materials.
Job Requirements:
o Must have the ability to complete a forklift safety training and acquire a certificate allowing you to operate a forklift and other pieces of equipment
o You may be trained to operate a forklift and other equipment/machines as necessary. While operating a forklift you are primarily in a seated position and use foot and hand controls (steering wheel, pedals and levers) to drive and control the forklift. Operation of the forklift includes loading, unloading, and stacking materials by raising and lowering the fork lifting devices
o Will need to have a valid and current drivers license
o Will need to have a fundamental knowledge of equipment maintenance and service
o Be able to think fast, react even faster, and make the people you are helping feel important
o Assist in the building of loads to be delivered as necessary, and a variety of other tasks that have to do with the general upkeep of the business regarding cleanliness, appearance, and safety
o Help keep the yard and out buildings in excellent condition while maintaining all safety standards
o Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry or can pick it up really fast while using great customer service skills
o Frequent walking at a quick pace, standing, bending, climbing, lifting 50 pounds or more, pushing, pulling, using a handheld radio and using a writing device
