Role and Responsibilities

Process purchase orders for production materials. Identifies available sources, determines procurement methods, selects supplies and directs issuance of purchase orders.

Maintain positive supplier relationships.

Provide direction and guidance for production schedules regarding lead times, and pricing of assigned materials to meet production plans.

Communicate with suppliers about order processing as required to resolve issues and receive order acknowledgements.

Request from approved suppliers quotes for cost and lead times.

Review and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.

Work with management to ensure that incoming materials meet QA quality standards.

Review and validated purchase price variances.

Maintain office and shop supply levels.

Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining optimal stock levels as specified by the Supply Chain Manager

Support Buyer II and Supply Chain Manager in day-to-day procurement activities

Support administrative needs of local management

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred

Experience in purchasing for a manufacturing company preferred

Strong negotiating skills

Strong communication skills

Demonstrated organizational skills

Strong math and analytical skills

Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite

Comfortable in a changing environment

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Comfortable in a traditional manufacturing environment, wearing PPE, walking Plant floor regularly

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
