This position is expected to start at $17 with potential to grow over time based on expanded job responsibilities and established experience.

This position is an on-call position of one week on and one week off. Your "on" week will include holding the on-call phone and responding to calls as they come in (typically 1-3 hours per week). You will be compensated an hourly rate for holding the phone, with additional pay for time worked responding to calls.
Drive cutaway buses in a professional and safe manner on a door-to-door service on an on-call basis within the City of Ellensburg.
Drive a cutaway bus on a door-to-door transit system within the City of Ellensburg.
Must be physically able to safely and properly secure wheelchairs.
Must be willing and able to provide passenger assistance when necessary.
Safely operate the vehicle at all times.
Assist disabled passengers on and off vehicles.
Maintain daily vehicle logs and passenger records.
Perform minor maintenance on vehicles and report any maintenance needs immediately to the supervisor.
Keep vehicle clean and in safe operating condition.
Requires lifting up to seventy-five (75) pounds
Requires physical capability of performing the duties of the position including the ability to board and exit the vehicle regularly, push passenger wheelchairs up an incline, assist passengers on and off the vehicle, and install tire chains.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Valid Washington State driver's license is required.
Safe driving record including no moving violations or at-fault accidents within the past 3 years.
Acceptable criminal history background check.
Washington State DOT Medical Certificate.
Hiring contingent upon a "clean" pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Knowledge of basic auto maintenance techniques, safe operation of motor vehicles, driving theory, emergency and accident procedures, passenger relations and assistance, and awareness of effects of various physical and mental disabilities.
