The Transportation Training Supervisor is responsible for training new and existing drivers in safety, vehicle operations, compliance and regulations in the transportation industry using online, classroom, and hands-on delivery methods. The trainer is also responsible for ensuring annual recertification is completed in a timely manner and is responsible for updating training as needed to align with regulatory and policy updates.
Responsible to continuously improve existing training program, including developing new material, updating training to meet changing policy, and evaluating learning methods to suit adult learners.
Creating training materials, presentations, and assessments to support training plan.
Responsible for scheduling and conducting classroom and on-road training sessions for new & existing drivers.
Document all trainings in the organizations Learning Management System (LMS)
Work with program manager to schedule, plan, and lead Quarterly Driver Training Meetings
Conduct regular driver evaluations, assessing trainees’ driving skills, knowledge, and professionalism by administering tests, practical evaluations, and unannounced observation of routes.
Maintain driver qualification documents and certifications to ensure all drivers remain in compliance with regulations and contracts.
Collaborate with HR to ensure employee files are complete with regard to training documentation.
Ensure compliance with transit regulations and safety protocols as well as contract agreement adherence.
Maintain driver qualifications and drive shifts as needed.
Support the program manager with rider grievance response by pulling onboard footage and record and report the finding internally and provide additional training based on findings.
Other duties as assigned including driving support and scheduled on-call admin
Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience as a driver with transit vehicles.
Proven experience as a trainer versed in various training methods
Subject to all driver qualification requirements
Fluent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
Valid Washington State driver’s license.
Safe driving records
Knowledge of basic auto maintenance techniques, safe operation of motor vehicles, driving theory, emergency and accident procedures, passenger relations and assistance, and awareness of effects of various physical and mental disabilities
Ability to lifting up to fifty (50) pounds
Ability of performing all driver duties but not limited to: manually operating lift, opening and closing emergency doors and windows, installing tire chains, and installing spare tires.
Ability to communicate effectively on cell phones, soft phones, and dispatch radio, in writing and verbally.
Ability to learn new process, procedures, and technology
Hiring contingent upon acceptable results from background check, drug & alcohol test, and DOT physical.
