Valley Marine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about boating and the outdoors. The Sales Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining inventory, assisting in sales, and ensuring that customers receive top-notch service. You will be responsible for assisting in daily operations, including inventory management, sales support, and ensuring a smooth customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Verify serial numbers on incoming freight and ensure they match with corresponding records.
Regularly verify and update current inventory to ensure accuracy.
Stock shelves with new inventory and ensure displays are tidy and well-organized.
Assist in setting up incoming boats for customer viewings and sales listings.
Sales Support:
Take clear and high-quality photos for online listings, including new inventory and consignment boats.
Create and manage online listings on the company website and platforms like Craigslist.
Assist the sales team with boat demos, including driving and backing up trailers at the boat ramp.
Pull necessary paperwork and prepare sales packets for customer deliveries.
Ensure that sales displays are well-maintained, brochures are replenished, and product information is up-to-date.
General Support:
Assist other departments as needed, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Help pick up or deliver new inventory to designated locations, such as dealerships or customers.
Operate a forklift (we will provide training and certification) to move inventory around the site and assist in addressing the lot at the beginning and end of each day.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work well in a team and assist with various departments as necessary.
Comfortable operating a forklift (training and certification provided if needed).
Valid driver's license AND a good driving record with the ability to tow trailers for demos and deliveries.
Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting and moving inventory.
Experience in a retail or sales environment is preferred but not required.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and organization.
