Your day as a Caregiver
Join our fantastic team at Valley VNA Senior Care as a Resident Assistant! In this engaging role, you'll be the superhero providing residents with personal care and support, enriching their lives through social activities and household assistance. Your day-to-day will include implementing Individualized Service Plans, ensuring our residents receive the personalized care they need. If trained, you'll also distribute medications according to Medication Administration Records (MAR) while adhering to safety protocols.
You'll play a crucial role in monitoring resident health, reporting any changes to the Shift Manager or RN, and keeping detailed records of your observations and tasks. From providing daily personal cares like bathing and oral hygiene to performing weekly vitals and weights, your contributions are vital in maintaining a warm, caring environment. We're looking for someone with at least one year of experience in assisted living, CBRF, or nursing homes, particularly working with elderly, disabled individuals, or those with dementia. Your ability to communicate effectively-both verbally and through written documentation-is critical, as you'll be interacting with residents, their families, and team members daily. Familiarity with tools like Hoyer lifts and sit-to-stand devices will be a huge plus, enabling you to assist residents safely and comfortably.
Customer service skills are key to creating a warm and welcoming environment, so a friendly demeanor and empathy will set you apart. Lastly, attention to detail is crucial in maintaining accurate records and ensuring the highest quality of care. If you embody these skills, we can't wait to meet you!
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
