Hi, we are seeking staff to work with adults who have mental disabilities. You do not need experience, training will be provided.
Most of the adults we take care of are usually out of the house by 9am, back about 4pm, and asleep by 9pm (unless they have doctor appointments), because they work or do volunteering during the day on weekdays. So you have some time to yourself. They have the minds of a child anywhere from aged 6 to aged 15. So you should be a patient person.
This is part time, 3 to 4 days a week, 25 hours per week. Flexible days, but we do need help on weekends occasionally. The pay is $1,500, paid each month. We might be able to offer a place to stay overnight if the travel time is too long.
The adults we take care of are able to do most things for themselves, but they would need help with taking their medications, meals (we provide food for them and yourself), getting them up for work or volunteer jobs, or other tasks.
We have a company car available and would also need you to drive them to work, volunteer jobs, or occasional activities.
If you want to work with us more than 3 months you will need to take a 15 hour course, which can be completed within 90 days of working with us. The course is not difficult, and no final exam is required as long as you complete the course. You can study the course anytime, and stop and contniue it again anytime.
The State does have an exam for those who want a $500 bonus, but an exam is not required as long as you complete the 15 hours course.
A background check will be done. We understand some people may have issues on their record. We can be flexible with non violent records or minor offenses.
