Position Description Summary:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible to manage the shift and direct all staff on their shift. The position ensures the smooth running of the production process, and ensures all products are processed to customer specifications and company quality standards. This position is responsible to ensure all direct reports comply with all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Assume full responsibility of the shift, including management of staff, management of production and quality targets, and ensure the smooth running of production process.
Oversee responsibility of the quality of product processed within the shift in line with company’s quality systems, processes and procedures.
Monitor equipment and complete thorough walk-arounds per company standards.
Manage, develop and motivate direct reports.
Ensure Health & Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during shift.
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills are used to ensure all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve possible problems.
Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective.
Ensure training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.
Take an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.
Maintain high level of timekeeping and prioritization skills.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
Minimum 3 years working in a high volume manufacturing environment as a Shift Supervisor or within an equivalent capacity. Heat treat background preferred but not required.
Previous forklift/hi-lo experience is an asset but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven communication skills
Strong understanding of the principles of manufacturing, and possess strong leadership skills.
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills essential.
