About United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley: United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley includes both Chippewa and Eau Claire counties in Wisconsin. Eau Claire, with a metro area of 163,000, is home to the 11,000 students at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire along with 6,000 students at Chippewa Valley Technical College. Position Overview: To develop, implement and measure an organizational marketing and communications strategy to increase awareness and support for United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley, to position United Way as a community impact leader and to promote community involvement in United Way.
Compensation & Benefits: $40,000 - $44,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience, plus $600/month flex benefit plan after 90 days of continuous employment.
United Way Commitment: Maintain a current understanding of and ability to articulate to the community UWGCV’s community impact model, focus activities, and results. Participate in appropriate internal and external committees in support of UWGCV’s community impact work.
Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing / Graphic Design:
Research, then develop and implement a strategic, year-round, market-driven Communications / Marketing Plan (including media relations, public relations, social media, traditional/online advertising, and collateral development) for United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley
Media/Public Relations:
Build solid relationships and maintain current contacts for all key media personnel at print publications, radio, and television stations in the region we serve
Campaign Communications:
Assure the continuity of top-level volunteer direction for the Marketing Committee through cultivation, recruitment and motivation
Community Impact Communications:
Collaborate with community impact staff and program partners to effectively develop an impact narrative for UWGCV
Special Events (in collaboration with UWGCV staff):
Develop, plan and implement, and recruit volunteers for all United Way special events (specifically Day of Caring), donor, and volunteer recognition events utilizing research-based information to determine the effectiveness of each event
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with major course work in marketing, graphic design, communications, public relations, or related field preferred
