Machinist
Job Description:
A machinist is a person that has been trained or has experience in machine tools in the set-up and operation of milling, lathe and grinding.
Duties Include:
Operate milling machines to fabricate precision components according to engineering drawing and specifications.
Set-up and operate manual lathes to turn, bore, thread, and face various materials including metals and plastics.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Inspect finished components for quality and adherence to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet production deadlines.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Job Requirements:
0 – 3 years related work experience in a machine shop environment.
CNC Machine experience a bonus.
Strong understanding of machining principles, tools, and techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges required.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to maintain and promote a positive attitude in the work environment.
Flexible, adaptable, and motivated team player who will ensure the company provides top-notch products and service to all customers
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Work is performed on the shop floor and requires frequent customer communications. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. High attention to detail required. Occasional travel is required.
