This position is recognized as a leader within their market and amongst peers in providing leadership to other associates within ET. The position will also coordinate and utilize supplier resources to achieve targeted goals. Key competencies include managing plant executive relationships, supplier management, cost savings process, personnel management, customer service, and inventory management. Goals are to retain and grow established business, provide stability and guidance to the onsite staff.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:· Provides direct supervision, mentoring, and supply chain guidance to in-plant associates located at the manager’s assigned site location.· Manages assigned plant executive relationships.· Manages key supply chain service level metrics, such as cost savings and inventory fill rates, to retain and grow established integrated supply business within the site.· Identify and realize opportunities for expanded spend management within their assigned site.· Review purchasing history for compliance with established sourcing strategies.· Enter Corrective Action Reports (CARs) for resolution as conditions warrant and review any open CARs or issues with client’s site champion weekly.· Review onsite inventory for optimization opportunities at least twice per year.· Supports achievement of sales and gross margin goals for their assign site.· Supports accelerated sales growth.· Supports accelerated sales growth with our strategic suppliers and in all categories.· Supports CribMaster customer vending opportunities to deliver growth, achievement of cost savings goals.· Track all savings for customer site.· Drives cost savings through manufacturing process improvements.· Maintains a Opportunity Funnel in salesforce.com to track progress and success on cost savings activities.· Logs customer engagement activities into salesforce.com.· Provides technical support for metalworking application opportunities.· Coordinates local supplier support for product testing.· Assists department leaders as needed in coordinating supplier involvement in site meetings.· Supports strategic supplier initiatives driven by the Category Team.· Provides local exclusive brand technical and brand support.· Delivers company innovations effectively, including all ET TOS services.· Executes Customer Needs Analysis within assigned site.· Analysis of current manufacturing processes with recommendations for improvement.· Acts as a role model and consistently demonstrate MSC vales and financial achievement.· Recognized as a leader within their market and amongst peers in providing leadership to other associates within ET.· Act as a lead by coaching, mentoring, and directing work as directed by management.· Consistently demonstrated best practices related to Ap Op, MW Innovation engagement and company culture.· Participates in or serves in a leadership role on company special projects or initiatives.· Provides input in the development of training initiatives as requested.· Lead and act as a resource for associates in plant.· Hold meetings with onsite associates and participate in customer meetings as needed.· Prepare and present savings documents to customer.· Meet or exceed annual savings goals.· Lead QBRs with customer.· Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.INDICATES ESSENTIAL DUTIESTo perform this job successfully an associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; engineering education preferred.· Minimum 2 years of hands-on machining applications experience or demonstrated proficiency in MW applications required.· 5 years’ experience in industrial distribution / integrated supply.· Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.· Manufacturing process experience preferred.· Previous field sales experience with a distributor or metalworking tooling manufacturer is preferred.· Previous experience with machining productivity improvement or cost savings initiatives preferred.· Well-rounded proficiency across broad range of metalworking applications is preferred.· Minimum of one-year supervisory experience required; 2 years preferred.SKILLS:· Strong communication skills are required.· Ability to work with cross-functional teams.· Experience analyzing data preferred.· Experience in CNC programming preferred.· Plant-level executive relationship management, third party supplier management, indirect materials cost savings process expertise, personnel management, expertise with multiple supply chain platforms, customer service, and inventory management.· Demonstrated product and application knowledge regarding industrial use MROP products, including any of various MROP categories such as perishable tooling, general industrial, electrical, power transmission (PTB), pipe valves & fittings (PVF), fluid power, electronics, automation, and/or safety.· General knowledge of the sourcing and market participants for all MRO categories.· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Programs.· Proven track record with leading others or leading initiatives (i.e., projects) required.OTHER REQUIREMENTS· A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 15% is required.· Availability to respond to off-shift emergency supply chain issues.· This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).TeleworkWhy MSC?
