This includes communication with customers and potential customers, understanding mechanical, production and quality issues and defining design parameters to support company philosophy and to ensure customer satisfactionQUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma and 4-year Engineering degree required
1 year manufacturing experience preferred
Former military experience is a plus
3D and 2D CAD experience required, preferably Autodesk Inventor
Must possess effective written, verbal and oral communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and the desire for challenges
Exceptional interpersonal skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Prepare accurate bills of material and enter into JobBoss software
Follow all designed projects from conceptual phase through final assembly
Work with production personnel to incorporate any/all recommendations for cost savings and/or labor efficiencies
Design products for manufacturability and efficiency
Generates product models, concept layouts and prints using a CAD software. Applies geometric dimensioning and tolerancing accordingly
Communicate directly with customer-based liaisons to define solutions to fill the customer’s requirements – must follow-up on communications routinely
Prepare accurate labor routings by operation sequence and enter into JobBoss software
Perform cost review of various jobs – identify materials, labor requirements and related costs
Troubleshoot problems with production operators and recommend corrective action
Perform all other duties as assigned
Has the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detected
