American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems, and a variety of other metal accessories. ACM is seeking Set-Up Technicians to join its team. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep of all the machinery in the production area. Performance will be measured by the percentage of machine uptime/downtime, production slowdowns and set-up time of various change overs. Specific duties may include:
Performing all duties safely and maintaining a safe work environment
Monitoring the condition of all machines
Maintaining the Lock-Out / Tag-Out program during troubleshooting and set ups
Ensuring the operators have the tools needed to complete their jobs
Operating machines and manufacturing equipment
Handling coil properly and hanging of coils
Ensuring that all machines are capable of meeting quality standards and that the set-up of machines meets those standards
Responsibility and authority to stop production when product quality does not meet requirements or if equipment operation is not safe or functioning properly
Working with the maintenance division and notifying of any mechanical problems or wear on the machines
Other duties as assigned
Specific qualifications include:
Two year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Machine operating experience and the ability to read calipers and tape measures is a plus
Strong troubleshooting skills
Time management, planning and organizational skills
Exceptional communication skills
Must be able to work under minimal supervision
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
