JOB REQUIREMENTS: Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through
subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the
construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and
oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
Includes managers in specialized construction fields, such as carpentry
or plumbing. OVERVIEW The purpose of the Site Manager is to work with
the Site Administrator in completing all construction-related activities
for the home building of Habitat for Humanity of Kenosha (approximately
2-4 homes per year). The Site Manager is responsible for managing
diverse groups of volunteers with varying degrees of construction skill
on the build site each day and ensuring the correct and safe completion
of home building. Site Manager will work with the Site Administrator,
the Executive Director and the Site Selection and Build Committee to
complete various aspects of the building process from site preparation
to passing of all required inspections. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Assist the Site Selection & Build Committee, Site Administrator and
Executive Director on the selection of house plans suitable for the
homeowners for each project Assist the Site Selection & Build Committee,
Site Administrator and Executive Director to set construction schedules
Determine and prepare tools and materials necessary for each build day
Greet, orient, and supervise new volunteers on the build site as well as
community service individuals Coordinate volunteer labor needs with the
Site Administrator and the Volunteer Coordinator Approve partner family
sweat equity hours Work with the Site Administrator to recruit skilled
and trade labor for professional tasks Schedule necessary inspections
Assist the Site Administrator to arrange service hook ups for builds
Maintain working knowledge of OSHA standards Maintain knowledge of
building code, safety standards, and required safety certifications
through Habitat for Humanity International and the City of Kenosha
Ensure that houses are built to code and pass City of Kenosha
inspections Conduct a walk through with the partner family and Executive
Director prior to closing Working with the Site Administrator, determine
appropriate methods of repair for the completion of repair projects as
needed Review relevant bills for accuracy and code them to the budget
for Executive Director on a regular basis Provide regular construction
status reports to the Site Selection & Build Committee, Executive
Director and Board of Directors Review Affiliate Safety Plan annually to
assure all policies and procedures are being observed to maintain a safe
environment Other duties as may be assigned Attend Site Selection and
Build Committee meetings once per month OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience in and
knowledge of residential construction process Obtain general contractor
certification Ability to work with and instruct diverse groups of people
with varying degrees of construction skill Basic computer skills Ability
and willingness to make phone calls and in-person visits to external
contacts Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Ability to operate construction trucks and pull/maneuver trailers as
required Ability to traverse a typical construction site, which may
include reaching overhead, climbing, lifting Ability to read and
interpret standard residential construction blue prints and
specifications Understanding and support of the vision of Habitat for
