JOB REQUIREMENTS: Kenosha County Public Health is seeking an

enthusiastic and motivated intern to join our Substance Use Prevention

Team. This temporary position provides an excellent opportunity for

individuals interested in public health, substance use prevention, and

community outreach. The intern will work directly with various programs

and initiatives aimed at reducing substance use and promoting wellness

across Kenosha County. This position is funded by a grant through

September 29, 2025. Duties include: Narcan Training and Distribution:

Conduct Narcan training sessions and distribute Narcan to community

members, organizations, and service providers throughout Kenosha County

Inventory and Data Management: Track inventory, maintain records, and

enter data related to Narcan distribution and other substance use

prevention activities Harm Reduction Vending Machines: Stock harm

reduction vending machines across Kenosha County with necessary supplies

Kenosha Overdose Response Initiative (KORI): Participate in KORI by

visiting opioid overdose survivors within 72 hours of the event,

offering resources, support, and information about recovery options Data

Input: Assist with the review and input of historical data related to

KORI visits from the past two years to ensure accuracy and completeness

Community Outreach and Events: Help coordinate and participate in

community outreach activities, including health fairs, public education

events, and other initiatives related to substance use prevention,

education, and stigma reduction; some events may take place on nights or

weekends Program Development: Contribute creative ideas and fresh

approaches to promote substance use prevention, reduce stigma, and

enhance education efforts in the community Support for Community Health

Assessment: Assist in data collection and other tasks supporting the

Community Health Assessment (CHA) Perform other duties as required or

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Experience or

familiarity with Narcan and harm reduction strategies is a plus, but not

required, as training will be provided Success Factors A passion for

work effectively with diverse community members Detail-oriented, with

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE IN-HOME THERAPIST: Interview and evaluate children and families to complete the intake process. Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments. Formulate, implement, evaluate, and review client treatment plans. Provide psychotherapy in accordance with treatment plans. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, or group counseling. Provide thorough and accurate updates on clients and make appropriate recommendations in regular and special staffings. Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients. LOCATION: This position will travel to meet with clients/families throughout Kenosha County with flexibility to work remote when in-person sessions are not scheduled. SCHEDULE: The schedule for all In-Home Mental Health Therapist positions is part-time and flexible.
