WOMEN AND CHILDREN’S HORIZONS, INC. 2525 63rd Street Kenosha, WI 53143 Location: Women and Children's Horizons Job Title: Shelter Manager Reports To: Executive Director Type of Position:Full-time Schedule:Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week POSITION SUMMARY The position performs a variety of responsibilities. Supervises Residential Staff and provides advocacy to victims of domestic violence.RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand and support the mission and purpose of Women’s Horizons, Inc.

Serve on committees as assigned by the Executive Director or the Assistant Executive Director.

Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops as necessary. Report on training experiences to other staff and conduct training sessions for staff and volunteers as needed.

Facilitate groups as needed.

Assist in grant the writing process, gathering materials as necessary.

Provide crisis counseling, legal and personal advocacy, safety planning, and follow-up services to victims as needed. Attend court hearings as needed or desired by victims.

Refer victims to other resources as appropriate to meet their needs.

Provide monthly and quarterly reports and statistics required for grant to supervisor.

Take on-call advocate as needed.

Oversee food, clothing, and household goods in Shelter.

Supervise gathering of data, and complete required reporting for all Shelter programs and grants.

Provide training and support to the Children’s Services Lead Advocate and other Shelter Advocates to ensure appropriate and quality advocacy/direct services for shelter residents.

Adhere to the organization’s Code of Ethics, Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and Confidentiality, and Agency-Wide Employee/Manager Standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Related field, or equivalent preferred. Two years experiencein crisis/social service agencypreferred.

Knowledge about domestic abuse and sexual abuse is required.

2. Knowledge about services available to victims in and around Kenosha County is preferred.

Cultural competence and ability to interact with various populations

Excellent interpersonal skills

Must demonstrate professionalism with sound judgment and a high degree of responsibility, particularly as it relates to confidentiality.

A reliable automobile with insurance and a valid driver’s license required

OVERVIEW The purpose of the Site Manager is to work with the Site Administrator in completing all construction-related activities for the home building of Habitat for Humanity of Kenosha (approximately 2-4 homes per year). The Site Manager is responsible for managing diverse groups of volunteers with varying degrees of construction skill on the build site each day and ensuring the correct and safe completion of home building. Site Manager will work with the Site Administrator, the Executive Director and the Site Selection and Build Committee to complete various aspects of the building process from site preparation to passing of all required inspections.
