This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a professional veterinary healthcare setting while working alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff. As a DVM Student Extern, you will apply your foundational veterinary knowledge in a real-world clinical environment, develop practical skills, and contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures under direct supervisionPerform routine clinical tasks including patient intake, vital sign monitoring, and basic laboratory workObserve and participate in surgical procedures, dental work, and other specialized veterinary servicesMaintain accurate and detailed medical records using veterinary practice management systemsCommunicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care and treatment optionsDemonstrate proper animal handling and restraint techniques in a safe and humane mannerSupport the clinical team in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environmentParticipate in continuing education and mentorship opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skillsAdhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory requirementsContribute to a collaborative team environment that prioritizes animal welfare and client satisfaction
