The City of La Crosse is accepting applications for a full-time Accounting & Administrative Assistant in the Finance Department. The purpose of this position is to assist with a variety of accounting assignments throughout the Finance Department and provide office administrative assistance as assigned. This position will maintain community development block grant (CDBG) and HOME grant financial records; maintain the City’s daily bank recording responsibilities; and perform accounts payable and budget monitoring functions. The work is performed under the direction of the Director of Finance and Human Resources.

Requirements: Associate degree in Accounting with proficiency in accounting software; three years of office and administrative assistant experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office. Effective public relations and communication skills. Starting wage for this non-exempt position ranges from $20.56 to $23.55 (75 hours bi-weekly).
