Heart of Brooklyn is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work in our program. Currently looking to fill an immediate position in our infant room as well as a part time floater and an assistant for the school age summer program. Floater to help with breaks, planning time and classrooms. School Age Assistant to help with field trips and classroom activities, which begins on June 13th and ends on August 24th. Can stay in this position if desired during the school year. However, hours will be 2:00-4:30 M-F
As a teacher, you ensure children's safety and learning by providing and promoting a program that facilitates their health, growth and development. Create an environment that motivates them to learn by innovative ideas that teach language, listening, social and physical skills through creative activities.
Teaching position hours are between 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Floater position hours are 12:00/12:30pm-4:30/5:00pm. School Age Assistant hours are between 8:30am-4:30pm or can be part time, up to 4/5 hours a day. With the floater and assistant position, would like it to be M-F but will consider a 3 day work week as well.

We are looking for individuals who have made Early Education their Career Goal and have at least a Registry level of 7 or above and at minimum two years experienced as a Lead Teacher. However, if you have made the choice to make Early Education your career goal and are just starting, as in the floater or assistant position, we would like to hear from you and see how we can partner up to make that happen.
Excellent compensation for lead teachers based on education & experience. Applicants with an associate or bachelor’s degree and with EXPERIENCE and a LOVE for TEACHING, highly compensated Starting wage for floater and assistant starts at $15 dollars an hour, and course work provided and paid for, if needed. Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma. In addition to wage base current bonus a month of $150 for full time hours and $75 for part time hours worked.
We reiterate how important it is that the individuals we seek have a passion for teaching and for children. Broad knowledge of child growth & development, classroom management techniques, and developmentally appropriate activities. Must be able to work as a supportive member of our team.
