Our dedicated team members work with study volunteers to help clients conduct and analyze early patient studies so they can decide whether or not to pursue the approval and commercialization of a given molecule.Our Clinical Research Unit in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking an on call Research Nurse to join our expanding team. As a Research Nurse at Covance you will be responsible for study unit activities in the conduct of clinical trials with emphasis on the safety and welfare of study participants.Join our team to make a direct impact on the advancement of healthcare and save lives! Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize skills, knowledge, nursing diagnosis, and clinical judgement in order to provide a high standard of care for participants in clinical trials.
Utilize nursing assessment skills to observe participant general well-being and potential adverse events. Documents adverse events and take appropriate action as needed.
Obtain Informed Consent and continues the process by educating, explaining, and informing participants of study procedures.
Administer investigational compounds to participants according to the protocol and applicable regulations.
Perform study-related activities such as IV insertion, telemetry, holters, vital signs, EKGs, venipuncture.
Collect and process biological samples according to the protocol and Standard Operating Procedures.
Record data obtained according to the protocol and Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain an understanding of current regulatory requirements.
Education/Qualifications:
BSN or ADN with current licensure in the state of Wisconsin
CPR/AED certified
Experience:
1+ years of nursing experience
