Amentum is actively seeking a Senior Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) to support large-scale maintenance and logistics efforts under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.We are looking for an adaptable individual for a part-time position that requires travel to international locations. Assist maintenance and support personnel supporting the Follow On Technical Support (FOTS) contract under NAVSEA PMS 326.

Support craft and ships sold to foreign Navies with fleet support of ships undergoing diesel engine repairs, overhauls, and modernization conversions.

Perform ready-to-start and post-repair inspections and review of operational testing procedures.

Conduct assessments such as ship visits to assess the material condition of shipboard systems.

Access, analyze, and provide recommended resolutions on diesel engines based on the U.S. Navy diesel inspector program.

Perform diesel engine inspections and Formal Periodic Assessments (FPAs) in accordance with the JFMM Revision B (volume four (4), chapter four (4)), OPNAV Instruction 9220.3, and the U.S. Navy Diesel Engine Inspector Handbook S9233- CJ-HBK-010.

Blueprint an engine, test engines and components, and take critical measurements to assess and eventually plan an overhaul or replacement.

Supervise complex repairs to different diesel engines such as MTU, Caterpillar, Fairbanks Morse, Isotta Fraschini, Paxman, etc.

Train crew and maintenance personnel in diesel maintenance and operations (focusing on foreign crews).

Minimum Requirements

6 years of technical experience with maintenance of shipboard diesel engines, propulsion, and auxiliary systems.

Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

Must be willing to travel to the Middle East (Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bahrain), and also to Indo/Pacific Countries (Philippines, Taiwan, etc.).

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS. OCONUS sites may include Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Bahrain, as well as Indo/Pacific Countries such as the Philippines and Taiwan.

Ability to obtain a United States Passport.

Preferred Qualifications

13-15 years of technical experience with maintenance of shipboard diesels.

Prior US Navy or USCG service as a qualified USN Diesel Engine Inspector (DEI) who held the NEC on active duty OR DEI course certified or equivalent (outside of US Navy).

HIRING PAY RANGE: $64/hr - $70/hr (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.
