Description We are in search of a contract Sr. Cost Accountant to join our clients team in Madison, Alabama. This role involves cost management and budget processes within the automotive manufacturing industry, with the potential to transition into a contract to hire employment opportunity. The chosen candidate will be responsible for processing and analyzing cost information, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in the preparation and control of budgets.Responsibilities: Analyze and process cost information with accuracy and efficiency. Maintain and manage General Ledger to ensure financial information is up to date. Conduct routine and complex cost analysis to determine areas of potential cost reduction and optimize profitability. Participate in the preparation and control of budgets, ensuring adherence to the company's budget processes. Manage and maintain accurate Fixed Asset Accounting records. Monitor and track customer accounts, taking appropriate actions when necessary. Resolve customer inquiries related to cost accounting and budgeting processes. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure consistency in cost management practices. Continuously improve cost accounting procedures for improved efficiency and productivity.Requirements Expertise in Cost Accounting Demonstrated knowledge in Cost Analysis Experience with General Ledger Proficiency in Fixed Asset Accounting Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field (preferred) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification (preferred) Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
