Job Purpose
Our Food Runners create a friendly and memorable experience for guests by providing prompt and accurate delivery of menu items, and assembling and coordinating all food orders as rapidly as possible. All Statehouse staff work with a teamwork mentality by offering support to all other colleagues in the restaurant.
This is a great position for individuals looking to learn and work their way towards becoming a professional restaurant server!
$20 + with Tips Included! $12/hr + Tips after 30 days.
Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Maintains clean trays plate rims at all times.
Checks cleanliness from previous shift and notifies restaurant manager of any problems.
Sets up, restocks and prepares for shift change and/or close.
Cleans and sanitizes work area throughout the shift.
Obtains and maintains knowledge of all menu items.
Ensures that Micros printers are powered on, function properly and extra printing paper is available.
Ensures that all overhead heating lamps are clean and working properly.
Sees that all necessary condiments serving utensils are available (ketchup, to go boxes, bags, silverware etc.).
Wipes all rims of plates with damp rag for no finger prints on the plates.
Stocks all plates and salad bowls on the line, as well as cocktail napkins.
Ensures that clean towels available for wipe downs.
Checks all orders carefully, and communicates with servers for any items rung in that are out of the ordinary.
Makes sure all orders are complete and look presentable for guests.
As orders arrive from the kitchen matches each kitchen plate with the corresponding Micros table order ticket from printer.
Makes sure all items are on plates as ordered and marks off the Micros order ticket.
Places all cold food items such as salads, sandwiches, cold cuts on other side of shelf away from heat lamps.
Makes sure that food runner checks all items for completion, accuracy and table numbers.
Communicates with server and kitchen if something is not correct or missing from an order.
Ensures all areas are wiped and cleaned upon closing.

Conditions
This position operates in a full-service, professional restaurant environment. Runners are required to use standard restaurant equipment such as commercial glassware and plate ware cleaning systems, etc. Their work can require them to move through our kitchen areas as well when receiving food orders and returning dishware. This position requires evening/weekend work.
