The award-winning fine dining restaurant, L'Etoile, under 2012 James Beard Winner Chef Tory Miller, is seeking to fill a full-time line cook position. L'Etoile has been a farm-to-table leader in the Madison community for over 40 years, continually pushing the boundaries of fine dining cuisine.

Ideal candidates will have fine dining restaurant or culinary school experience; those with multi-station experience or desire to learn preferred. Must be clean, organized, efficient and calm under pressure. Those with an interest in sustainable agriculture and environmental impacts of the food system are encouraged to apply!

Duties include:

-prep and setup before service of assigned station

-cooking and plating of designated menu items

-listening and responding to the shift's expo to ensure a smooth service

-keeping station clean throughout the duration of the shift and helping break down and clean the kitchen post-service

-reporting low inventory or counts to the kitchen manager/sous chef

-reporting to a scheduled shift on time, with advanced notice to the kitchen manager/sous chef if there are scheduling conflicts

Hourly wage based on experience and skill level; health care and paid time off benefits available for full time staff (30+ hours a week). Other benefits include transportation assistance, free daily meal, addition educational and industry connection opportunities.
