The UW-Madison Fluno Center is seeking a Line Cook.
Job Summary:
At the Fluno Center Line Cooks are responsible for preparing high quality food for our hotel and conference guests. Our Line Cooks receive and prepare orders in Smitty's Study Pub, they assist with catering and banquet events, they prepare food for our break stations and they assist with buffet breakfast and lunch in the dining room. To be successful in this role you will:

Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of food preparation activities and related tasks according to quality and safety standards in dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals.
50% Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
5% Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
20% Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
15% Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
10% Oversight and supervision of culinary production team

The Fluno Center for Executive Education and Conference Centers are part of the Wisconsin Union operation and support continuing education and campus conferences. The Fluno Center serves as a premier conference and lodging resource for continuing education, campus conferences and visitors. The Fluno Center includes 100 guest rooms, classrooms, and dining facilities. Conference Centers provides high-quality conference services, including lodging, audiovisual, catering and registration services for roughly 65,000 unique attendees for events and meetings.
The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.
