Clinical Informatics Specialist

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team on a Full-Time basis.

The Clinical Informatics Specialist seamlessly connects information technology (IT) resources to clinical staff processes and defined procedures. This role participates in programs, services, and solutions for education and optimization of Stoughton Health’s clinical (i.e. Epic) and non-clinical applications. This includes collaboration with stakeholders to understand complex workflows, assess needs, facilitating discussions, designing and implementing solutions within our control, and driving organizational change. The Clinical Informatics Specialist provides elbow training and participates in onsite or group training sessions. They partner with colleagues and stakeholders in person and remotely to enhance the value and efficiency of solutions and platforms. Duties include analyzing complex clinical operations and structure processes to facilitate decision-making regarding clinical systems, utilizing the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer applications, and ensuring information systems are consistent with professional standards of practice. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for providing support, education, and direction to clinical, medical staff, hourly staff, and other patient care areas.

The Clinical Informatics Specialist develops an understanding of clinical and operational processes to develop and deliver educational content for the supported applications. They gather information and support troubleshooting and resolution for identified issues. This role will support both Epic applications and the transformation of data from internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improvement. Project management of equipment integration is also key to this role.

Position Requirements:

Required: Associate Degree in Healthcare, Health Administration, Education, Information Technology, Business, Health, or related field.

Two years of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Health, Health Administration, Education, Information Technology, Business, Health, or related field.

Professional Experience:

Healthcare industry experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience working on integration, data management, quality management, and analyst of healthcare data.

Experience with databases, integration, data warehousing

Strong Attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

Ability to prioritize and multitask

Experience with healthcare Practice Management Systems and EPIC

Work Shift:

Full-Time, 1.0 FTE

40 hours per week

Scheduled Days: Monday - Friday

Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

May have some occasional on-call coverage shifts with system upgrades
