Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Services Technician to join our team on a Full-Time basis in our Environmental Services Department.
The Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech) is responsible for performing routine cleaning duties to keep assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition. Responsible for maintaining necessary stocks of cleaning supplies and disposing of designated accumulated waste products.
The EVS Tech is detail-oriented and desires to be a part of a great infection prevention team. This position works independently cleaning outpatient areas. In addition to cleaning the tech will do trash pick-up, dust mopping, vacuuming, mopping, and machine scrubbing of floors and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.
Essential Functions:
Perform cleaning of assigned rooms and areas - including rooms occupied by patients, visitors, and healthcare providers
Communicate as needed with EVS managers and unit staff regarding patient needs.
Perform cleaning that includes trash pick-up, dust mopping, vacuuming carpets, mopping of floors, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces. After discharge of patients EVS tech is responsible for terminal cleaning of rooms and all floors, and surfaces (walls, vents, cabinets, drawers, trash cans, toilets, commodes, showers, etc.)
Manages all non-regulated and regulated waste.
Clean and disinfect lavatory fixtures throughout the facility on a routine basis.
Maintain supplies in all restrooms in patient rooms and assigned areas including soap and paper for dispensers regularly.
Spot clean carpets- and report floors needing more in-depth cleaning, stripping, and finish.
Stairs and elevators.
Report items needing repair to EVS manager or maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Required: Basic reading and comprehension skills
Preferred: High School graduate or equivalent
Professional Experience: Prior institutional cleaning experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.
Work Shift:
Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
40 hours per week
Scheduled Days: Variable
Scheduled Shift: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Provide weekender relief when needed
Work holidays if on scheduled day
