We’re a busy and dynamic family living in Middleton looking for a long-term domestic helper to become a valued part of our daily lives. With both parents working and our son starting kindergarten, our days are full of activity and excitement. We're seeking someone who can help us keep things running smoothly, preparing meals, tidying up, and lending a hand with errands and household tasks. If you're reliable, friendly, and have a knack for organization (and maybe even speak a bit of Mandarin), we'd love to meet you!
This is a long-term opportunity. We are looking for candidates who are seeking long-term employment with generous benefits. Dad owns a company that will provide above-board employment. This is an excellent opportunity for part-time students who are pursuing either online or evening classes. Due to the required schedule, this is not a good opportunity for full-time students.
Responsibilities:
Child Care:
o Prepare breakfast for a kindergarten-aged son
o Assist with morning routines as needed
o Potential to travel with the family on vacations to provide assistance
o Occasionally pick up son from school and transport him home
Meal Preparation:
o Plan and prepare healthy, diverse dinners for the family to cook themselves
o Grocery shopping and maintaining pantry inventory
Housekeeping:
o General cleaning and upkeep of the home
o Laundry duties: washing, drying, ironing, and folding
o Clean and change bedding on a weekly basis
o Organize and declutter living spaces, basements, and storage units
o Periodic maintenance for appliances (furnace filters, sanitize washer, etc)
o Dispose, donate, recycle old toys and other unnecessary items
o Coordinate larger cleaning projects with additional temporary staff (ex. garage, storage unit)
o Clean guinea pig cage bi-monthly and assist with pet care as needed
Errands and Transportation:
o Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
o Run errands such as picking up items, mail, etc.
o Use of family vehicle provided for work-related tasks
Light Landscaping:
o Basic outdoor tasks like gardening, watering plants, and lawn care
Organizational Projects:
o Assist with setting up organizational systems for household efficiency
Qualifications:
Experience:
o Prior experience in housekeeping, cooking, childcare, or as a domestic helper
o Proven cooking skills; ability to plan and prepare a variety of meals
Certifications:
o CPR and First Aid certification preferred
o Willingness to obtain certification if not already certified
Language Skills:
o Proficient in basic English
o Mandarin and/or Spanish language skills are a plus but not required
Other Requirements:
o U.S. Citizen (Green card holders with work authorization will also be considered)
o Trustworthy, responsible, and able to pass a comprehensive background check (credit, criminal, driving)
o Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
o Ability to work independently and take initiative
o Must be comfortable working in a household with children and pets (guinea pigs)
o Flexibility to adjust hours occasionally, including potential weekend or evening hours when traveling
o High level of discretion and respect for family privacy
Schedule
Monday – Friday
6am start time on school days (mandatory, non-negotiable)
7am start time on days with no school
Minimum of 30 hours a week to be eligible for benefits
Benefits
Competitive Compensation:
o Hourly Wage: $22 to $24 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
o Overtime pay for any hours exceeding the regular schedule
