I run a small moving business and am looking to hire an additional team member for the remainder of the season, specifically through the rest of September and parts of October. Our next job is this Sunday, September 22. This is a seasonal position, but if you're a good fit, I’ll plan to bring you on again for the next season starting in mid-April.
Pay and benefits:
$20/hour, no experience (with a 2-hour minimum pay for every job)
$22.50/hour to start, with experience (with a 2-hour minimum pay for every job). Experience as in you worked as a legitimate mover, not personal moving.
50/50 split on all customer tips
Same-day pay after each job
Most jobs take 2 hours or less. Once in a while some jobs can be up to 4 hours.
All work will be in the Madison area, no out of town work.
Schedule: Sunday-Friday (No Saturdays). Your work days will vary, and I do my best to let you know when your next moving job is 2 or more days in advanced, if you can make it. For the new hire, I have about 6 extra jobs lined up for the rest of September. I prefer someone who can do most, if not all of the rest of September work.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Reliable transportation and ability to drive to and from job sites.
Must live in the Madison area
Must be hard-working, reliable, honest, friendly composed, and level-headed.
Presentable appearance, wear decent work clothes and shoes, waist-level pants or shorts with a belt, if necessary.
Preferred but not required:
Some experience is preferred, but I’m willing to train. This isn’t rocket science—need to be physically capable, not clumsy, able to handle a dolly, and maintain a steady pace throughout the job.
