Join the Habitat for Humanity of Dane County team as a full-time Institutional Giving Manager
Habitat for Humanity of Dane County (Habitat Dane) is a Madison-based nonprofit that helps families achieve strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. In Dane County alone, one in eight people live in poverty, including 16 percent of all Dane County children. We are looking for an Institutional Giving Manager to be part of an excellent team that is making a difference every day for our partner families.
The Institutional Giving Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with foundations, corporations, and government agencies to secure financial support for the organization. This role focuses on developing a robust pipeline of institutional donors, managing the grant application and corporate sponsor solicitation process, ensuring that grant reports are submitted, and stewarding organizations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with excellent writing skills and a track record of success in fundraising.
The Institutional Giving Manager will be part of a four-person development team and will be supervised by the Vice President of Development. Habitat Dane is growing and there is potential for promotion into other areas of fundraising, including but not limited to major giving, as the organization scales.
What You Will Do
Manage a comprehensive institutional giving strategy to meet the organization’s annual and long-term funding goals. Maintain a pipeline of institutional donors and donor prospects and ensure effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Prepare and submit grant proposals and letters of inquiry to granting institutions and prepare and submit reports for completed grants. Collaborate with program staff to gather information necessary for proposals and reports. Assist with government grant applications and compliance in collaboration with staff across the organization.
Develop, in collaboration with VP of Development, grants compliance procedures and best practices.
Solicit corporate sponsor support, including writing proposals and sponsorship menus, and manage ongoing relationships with sponsors.
Ensure outstanding delivery of corporate partner benefits, in collaboration with development, volunteer services and communications. Includes assisting with execution of sponsored corporate volunteer events and one-to-many stewardship efforts like the corporate e-newsletter.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective institutional donors through personalized communication, site visits, and engagement opportunities. Collaborate with VP of Development on management of major ($50,000+) corporate partner and foundation relationships.
Utilize Asana task management software and Raiser’s Edge database to track deadlines, assign tasks, and maintain accurate records of grant and corporate sponsorship work.
Research and qualify grants, foundations and corporations for alignment with Habitat Dane mission.
Assist construction staff and ReStore donation staff to coordinate in-kind donations to support construction activities.
Represent Habitat Dane at various community meetings, membership organization activities and at events.
