Larson Electric Madison is a well-respected electrical contractor serving Dane County since 2002. We specialize in residential remodels, high-end new builds, service work, and light commercial maintenance. Our projects range from custom luxury installations to advanced smart home systems, underground and overhead services, and both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems. We are looking for a hardworking, personable, and detail-oriented electrician to join our team!

Journeyman/Master can organize their vans as they like but are responsible for keeping them clean and orderly

Responsibilities of a Journeyman/Master Electrician

Mentoring apprentices, ensuring they are challenged but conducting work in a safe manner.

Keeping track of jobs using Company Cam (training provided) and other job management software to ensure efficiency.

Ordering specific materials for ongoing or upcoming jobs (for smaller projects – we keep most general materials stocked in our shop).

Communicating with Project Managers, Contractors, and Customers regarding measurements, material needs, and job-related questions.

Accurately tracking time and materials for yourself and apprentices on non-bid jobs.

Our work vans are fully shelved and stocked to ensure that you have the tools you need to get the job done efficiently. Some of the high-quality gear and equipment we provide includes:

Battery-operated Milwaukee hammer drills for efficiently pounding ground rods

Self-leveling lasers for accurate layout and installations

Milwaukee Packout storage system for organized and secure tool management

Ladders and material handling equipment for a variety of job site conditions

Full selection of hand tools and power tools to reduce downtime

Essential safety equipment, including face shields, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and more

Spare materials and hardware to minimize trips to the supplier

We believe in equipping our electricians with the best tools and a well-stocked van so you can work more efficiently, safely, and professionally on every job site.

What You’ll Be Doing

Work independently or with one apprentice, depending on the job

On larger projects, work as part of a bigger team to ensure efficiency and high-quality installation

Handle a variety of electrical projects, including:

✅ Indoor pools & saunas

✅ Elevators & Generac generators

✅ EV chargers

✅ Residential movie theaters

✅ Smart home systems (Control4, custom automation, lighting control, whole-home AV)

✅ Underground & overhead residential services

✅ Single-phase & three-phase electrical systems

Engage with homeowners and builders, ensuring professionalism and high-quality workmanship

Use creativity and problem-solving to complete custom electrical installations

Treat every job site with respect and care – we take pride in our work

✅ What We’re Looking For

Valid Journeyman/Master Electrician License (or working towards obtaining it within one year)

3+ years of hands-on electrical experience in residential or light commercial work

Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Reliable transportation to and from the shop

Professional appearance & work ethic

Trustworthy, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude

Reliable phone required – we use Jobber, Company Cam, and Gusto for managing jobs and payroll

Ability to work independently and complete projects with excellence

Willingness to Travel: Up to 25% (Preferred)
