Reports to the Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. Leads the NPI engineers and Engineering Change Management team. Responsible for industrializing new products (manufacturability, process development, pilot builds, launch), milestone delivery, process standards, and accurate, timely engineering changes and documentation. The ideal candidate for a Mgr Manufacturing Engineering – NPI & ECO, they would be able to do the following:Leads, coaches, and develops the NPI engineers and Engineering Change Management team; sets priorities and builds backup coverage.Serves as manufacturing lead in the stage-gate new product process; joins design reviews with a Design for Manufacturability focus and identifies automation and cost-out opportunities.Drives development of new product manufacturing processes (flow, methods, workmanship standards) using cycle/takt-time and labor data; directs tool and fixture development.Manages Alpha, Beta, and pre-production builds, gives feedback to Design, and owns launch, ramp to rate, and hand-off to sustainment.Manages new product project milestones through defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Activity Indicators (KAIs), tracking build, launch, and ramp readiness against stage-gate dates and escalating risks to the Director.Drives process standards and discipline in the use of process development tools, such as build readiness, add/delete lists, make vs. buy decisions, process flow diagrams, PFMEA, BOM and routing release, first article inspection, and lessons learned, and audits their use across NPI programs.Owns the engineering change order (ECO) process from intake to cutover, sets cycle time and quality targets for the team, and maintains the accuracy of BOMs, routings, work instructions, costs, and IPQC.Collaborates with Engineering, Quality, Production Control, Finance, and value stream leaders.
