CNA INSTRUCTOR

Duties include on-site instruction/lab, as well as 2 days of offsite training in a clinical setting in the areas of entry level skills for Nursing Assistants.

Meet all course competencies required by the state.

Use of formative and summative assessments of students progress.

Measure each students' achievement of course competencies. (percentage)

Ensure that policies and procedures are understood and enforced.

Be accommodating different learning styles. (Learning students needs to be successful)

Address academic/lab concerns that participants may have.

Be available during the hours of 9-3:00pm and 2 days out of the month (6:30-3pm)

Ensure that skills check-offs are conducted and filed as well as attendance for each student. (hours accounted for)

Work collaboratively with the administrator and other instructors, to integrate instructional activities and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Good oral/written communication skills.

Ability to and experience working with diverse populations.

Computer knowledge/use

Develop lesson plans and curriculums.

Effectively supervise trainees' lab and clinical practice.

Must meet State and Federal certification requirements for nursing assistant instructor (The primary instructor for a training program must be a RN licensed to practice in Wisconsin, who has at least 2 years of experience working as a RN, of which at least 1 year of experience shall be actual work experience in providing care in a nursing home that meets the requirements.

Must attend a training course for instructors that is approved by DHS (will provide this information if needed) (can be done online) This can be waived if you have substantial equivalent training or clinical experience.
