Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be engaged in various functions within the education industry, handling a wide range of accounting tasks such as processing transactions, maintaining vendor payments, and preparing reports.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate uploading and processing of transactions to the accounting system. Manage vendor payments, payroll data, card transactions, and invoices efficiently. Undertake the collection and scanning of necessary documentation. Generate daily, weekly, and quarterly ad hoc reports. Troubleshoot any accounting system errors and prepare corrective journal entries. Utilize skills in Grant Accounting to manage and maintain financial records. Actively participate in the maintenance and updating of accounting records. Assist in the resolution of accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Ensure compliance with established accounting standards and procedures. Provide support for other financial and organizational projects as needed. Requirements Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Proficiency in Grant Accounting is necessary. Knowledge of standard accounting principles and procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with accounting software is preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills. Familiarity with financial reporting. Experience in a similar role is desirable. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Must be authorized to work in the country. ESSENTIAL DUTIES (FUNCTIONS) include the following: Interacts with participants in a respectful, age-appropriate, and culturally-appropriate manner by honoring participant preferences and requests, in conjunction with behavior plans and care information. Works cooperatively with Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Program Manager to provide interesting and stimulating program activities that are appropriate for most participants, which include recreation and educational enrichment. Completes and maintains accurate records of all activities and required paperwork (weekly logs, attendance sheets, etc) in a timely manner.
