The organization supports the academic and strategic objectives of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with commitment and pride in everything they do.Job Summary Inspects, maintains, and repairs specialized equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction, design and operational maintenance as needed.The hours for the position are generally 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday but may change in accordance with operational needs.This position is not eligible for hybrid work and requires 100% onsite work. Minimum Qualifications

Evidence of basic knowledge and troubleshooting experience in any or all of the following: electrical, plumbing, HVAC , small engines.

Ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted.

Ability to use ladders and aerial lifts up to 60 feet while wearing fall protection.

Must be available to work on weekends, holidays or after business hours as necessary.

Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver license (or other such valid operator’s permit recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation) and be able to meet or exceed the minimum requirements for driving on state business as detailed here: https://uwm.edu/risk-management/drivers/

Preferred Qualifications

One year or more of experience related to performing the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC mechanical systems.

Possess Windows based computer navigational skills and or evidence of knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

Working knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and State of Wisconsin safety regulations

Possess the ability to interact positively and professionally with the campus community, including students, building managers, academic personnel, and craft personnel, in a diverse work environment.

Target Salary Range $21.42 per hour - $24.74 per hour (Final salary based on candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience)
