We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Bartender & Kitchen Expeditor to join our team.
This is a dynamic, back-of-house position and not a traditional guest-facing bartending role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for our servers while also managing the final quality control and flow of all food orders from the kitchen to the dining room. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and are an excellent multitasker, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Drink Preparation: Accurately and quickly prepare all drink orders for the front-of-house team, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, including espresso and other after dinner drinks.
Food Expediting: Serve as the final point of contact between the kitchen and servers. Ensure that each food order is complete, correct, and meets presentation standards before it is delivered to the table.
Quality Control: Inspect each plate for accuracy and clean presentation. Tasting all open bar stock and properly restocking fresh fruit and cocktail garnishes as well as checking all expiration dates on bottles and cans before service starts.
Workflow Management: Call out tickets and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are expedited in the correct sequence.
Server Communication: Clearly communicate with servers regarding special requests, allergy modifications, and timing issues.
Inventory & Restocking: Assist with daily bar inventory, including liquor, beer, wine, and garnishes. Ensure the bar is fully stocked before, during, and concluding service.
Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized bar and expo area throughout the shift, adhering to all sanitation and safety standards.
Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a bartender or expeditor in a restaurant setting.
Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
The ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure during busy service periods.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both kitchen and serving staff.
Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques, and standard bar operations.
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to clime a flight of stairs several times in a shift.
Key Differentiators
Important Note: This is a back-of-house and front-of-house role. While there is some direct customer interaction when running food, all drink orders will be placed by the service staff and prepared in the kitchen.
This is a role for a team player who can build strong working relationships with both our kitchen and front-of-house staff.
