Job Description: Cheesemonger
10+ hours/week
Job purpose: Responsible for participating in the smooth, friendly and efficient operation of the store as directed by the shop manager, while upholding high standards of customer service and maintaining proper care and display of cheese, charcuterie, wine and specialty foods.
Key responsibilities include:
Sell, cut and wrap cheeses and meats. Maintain specialty foods and wines areas.
Uphold high standards of customer service through every encounter, including greeting every guest, selling and educating them about our cheeses and other products while assisting them in a quick and friendly manner.
Maintain clean and full display of cheese and retail products.
Maintain sanitary, clean and safe work environment in shop, behind the counter and in coolers.
Lead team of mongers through guidance and goal setting.
Prepare menu items including sandwiches, salads, cheese boards, meat boards, beverages and other menu items.
Prepare gift boxes and catering trays.
Ring up purchases on the cash register.
Perform opening and closing duties as detailed.
Complete all other tasks requested by supervisor.
Participate in the spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
Ability to stand for 4-5 hours at a time, and to lift up to 20 pounds.

Ability to work both independently and with a team
Attention to food safety/kitchen hygiene
Responsible, trustworthy and friendly
Holidays & occasional Saturdays a must
Experience:
2+ years cheese experience, retail or restaurant. Love of cheese and food a must! Non related experience need not apply.
Starting hourly wage $15-$20 based on level of experience. (Additionally, employee discounts and bonuses.)
