La Merenda Restaurant - Hiring for Line cooks

La Merenda in Walker’s Point is seeking experienced line cooks to join our team of culinary professionals. With 18 years in the business, we have a proven track record, and we are looking for new applicants to join our team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assisting with stocking and setting up various stations.

Prep station with needed items.

Dicing, chopping, cutting, etc. various ingredients for service.

Preparing dishes per recipe, to restaurant standards.

Taking direction from senior cooks and chefs.

Completing orders in a timely manner.

Cleaning station and cooking utensils and storing equipment, and food at the end of shifts

Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.

Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Cook

At least two years experience as a Line Cook, or Prep Cook.

Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Knife skills

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

Familiarity with industry’s best practices.

Morning (7-3pm) and afternoon shifts are available (3-11 PM)

Weekend availability is required

Able to lift up to 50lbs
