Our Staffing Manager role is a full-time position in our Walker’s Point office. Qualified candidates will function with a hospitality mindset, understanding that our team members are our #1 customers. This role will have a variety of responsibilities supporting operations, human resources, and event execution.
The weekly schedule for our Staffing Manager will run Tuesday to Saturday, with occasional nights and holidays.
Requirements
- Arrange for all Front of house (FOH) staffing for catering events
- Assist with recruiting initiatives and actively contribute to strategic recruitment planning aimed at organizational growth
- Manage FOH employee attendance, time keeping, and schedule availability
- Drive employee retention through best practices and operational adjustments as needed
The functional tasks below show some of the daily processes and responsibilities this role undertakes.
- Manage online scheduling and develop work schedules for all catering positions, including servers, bartenders, event managers, event supervisors, catering ambassadors, and temporary staff
- Communicate schedules to employees and ensure 100% shift coverage through effective use of scheduling software
- Promptly address call-offs, emergency staffing changes and schedule conflicts as they occur in real time, which may occur outside of standard office hours
- Ensure accurate timekeeping for catering staff, by recording and correcting any missing hours or punches as needed
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in job fairs and other initiatives to hire for hourly FOH positions
- Assist in coordinating the training program by ensuring training shifts progress as planned and that trainers are scheduled for the appropriate events
- Participate in management meetings to address issues, share insights, and collaborate on new ideas within the company
- Provide on-site support at major events or during high-volume weekends
This position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in the service industry, leading teams, and/or handling administrative tasks in a high-volume environment. A combination of these skills is highly desirable. Integrity, accuracy, and a passion for service are essential for success in this role. The Staffing Manager must be able to independently manage priorities and timelines, communicate effectively, and consistently meet deadlines. Given the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, the ability to adapt quickly and efficiently is crucial.
Essential job functions:
- Stand or sit up to 8 hours at a time
- Lift up to 10 lbs to chest level
- Responsiveness to emergency situations outside of traditional business hours
- Operate a computer to access the internet and work within a variety of software programs
